Advantages of EB-5 Green Cards with a Regional Center

Below are the primary advantages of securing EB-5 Green Cards through an approved USCIS Regional Center:

Minimal Qualifying Criteria – No language requirement or educational requirement. Other than ensuring the capital investment is from legal and lawful sources, the EB-5 visa program does not put any other qualifying condition. The investor and family members are not required to know fluent English or have minimum education requirements.

Lower Investment Requirement. If you invest through a Regional Center, you only need to invest $500,000 instead of the standard $1,000,000 requirement.

Active Management of the Enterprise is Not Required. Investors own shares in a holding company which assigns the regional center as a General Partner to represent the investor’s interest in the job creating enterprise.

No Sponsor Needed. Foreign investors use their own personal funds and do not require sponsorship from either an employer or family member.

Easier Ten Job Creation Requirement. If you invest on your own, you have to create (or in the “troubled business” scenario, “save”) 10 jobs for U.S. workers, but Regional Centers can also add in any “indirect” jobs. The Economic Impact Analysis of the project provides the USCIS with a job “multiplier” to qualify the additional “indirect and induced” jobs that are created for each new “direct” job.

Potentially More Predictable Result. A more experienced team in a USCIS approved Regional Center can help minimize risks and uncertainties.

Fast Track U.S. Residency. Unlike other categories, EB-5 visa has no (until 2013) or very short waiting period. Below are current waiting period for other categories (as of Jan 2015):

EB-5 Regional Centers are often structured differently, with many focusing on land development or conceptual projects. Investment projects can have vastly different structures, products and viability.

Rhode Island EB-5 Regional Center, LLC focuses on manufacturing companies with established, proven products. We strongly suggest every investor examine each potential investment to determine the EB-5 investment meets with their own personal investment criteria. Equally important, when selecting a Regional Center, investors should only consider approved USCIS Regional Centers, such as Rhode Island EB-5 Regional Center, LLC.
